Witness: Good Guy with Gun ‘Took Cover Behind a Car,’ Shot, and Ended Texas Church Attack

On November 5, a witness to the deadly Texas church shootingrecounted how his neighbor grabbed a rifle, took “cover behind a car,” then shot at the gunman and ended the attack.

The witness, Kevin Jordan, was changing the oil in his vehicle when heard the attacker open fire on the church. He said he looked at the gunman and the gunman saw him and fired off a round toward his house.

He told KENS5 that his neighbor ascertained what was going on, retrieved a rifle, and went to intervene:

Our neighbor, who’s a very good guy, a very big Christian, he’s the nicest person on the planet [and] will do anything for anyone around here. We’ve known him for years, he’s childhood friends with my dad. He came with his [gun] and he took cover behind a car and he shot the guy. I’m not sure if it was inside the church and the guy was coming out, but if it wasn’t for him the [attacker] would not have stopped.
