Many could well have been avoided mitigated, had the perpetrators known their intended victims were equipped with a rifle and twenty bullets apiece... Apparently Facebook in it’s sense of ‘total fairness’ has decided to suspend pending deletion our 39,000 member FB Group ‘Calguns Members’ for a ‘Community Standards Violation’ although we were not told what that was nor when it occurred.

In the screenshot of the notice the suggested remedies are changing the name, changing the cover photo or deleting posts.

The name; there are several pages using the Calguns name and none of them have been shut down. A quick search shows thousands of groups with ‘gun’ in the title.

Cover photo; it’s the Constitution for crap’s sake!! While everyone knows that FB wishes the Constitution didn’t exist the idea that a cover photo of our founding document ‘violates community standards’ is laughable.

Deleting posts; I and several other Admins have gone through the page and can not find anything that is not easily and readily available in hundreds of other FB groups. In fact there’s less graphic, vulgar or offensive stuff in Calguns Members than in most groups period.

We’re looking in to how to restore the group but for now 39,000 California gun owners, shooters, collectors and competitors have been silenced with no explanation given
