Texas Gun Group Calls ATF Reform A “Trap”

“If these reforms prove anything, it’s that the ATF knew it was pushing too far—and now it’s trying to pull back just enough to survive,” the report concluded. “Gun owners shouldn’t let that happen.”
I agree with this article — every word. And have said the same.

While many in the pro-gun community are cheering the recent rulemaking package announced by the Department of Justice to “safeguard the rights of gun owners,” one pro-gun group sees it as a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

On April 29, acting U.S. Attorney General (AG) Todd Blanche held a signing ceremony where he released a landmark rulemaking package from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).

“The Second Amendment is not a second-class right,” Blanche said at the signing ceremony. “This Department of Justice is ending the weaponization of federal authority against law-abiding gun owners. We will continue to vigorously defend their rights as the Constitution demands.”

The pro-gun organization Texas Gun Rights (TXGR), however, is warning members that they should be wary of the DOJ’s claims.
