The Suppressor Betrayal: When Republicans Stall on Freedom
Enough is enough.
We didn’t elect a Republican majority to play defense on our constitutional rights. We didn’t send them to Washington to water down liberty into something that looks good in a press release but does nothing for real Americans on the ground. We elected them to restore what’s been taken—clearly, unapologetically, and without compromise.
But today, two Republican Congressmen—Rep. David Kustoff (R-TN) and Rep. Jason Smith (R-MO)—are doing the opposite. They’re standing in the way of two critical pro-Second Amendment bills:
- H.R. 404 – The Hearing Protection Act
- H.R. 2395 – The SHORT Act
These bills would remove suppressors and short-barreled rifles from the National Firearms Act (NFA)—ending the federal registration, the $200 tax, and the unconstitutional background check requirements that have burdened lawful gun owners for nearly a century.
This is a chance to finally repeal bad law, not revise it. And yet… we’re being stalled by members of our own party.
Who’s Blocking Your Rights—and How
Rep. David Kustoff isn’t pushing for repeal. He’s reportedly suggesting a minor tax reduction instead. That’s not deregulation. That’s a distraction.
Rep. Jason Smith, who chairs the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, hasn’t moved the bills forward at all.
In plain terms: they’re holding the door closed while pretending they’re working on opening it.
This isn’t just a policy failure—it’s a betrayal of principle. When your so-called allies slow-walk your freedom, they are no different from your enemies.
Why This Matters
Suppressors are not weapons of war. They are safety tools—used to protect hearing, reduce noise pollution, and increase control. In most developed countries, they’re sold over the counter. Here, in the “land of the free,” they’re treated like contraband—unless you pay the government, register like a criminal, and wait months.
That’s not freedom. That’s infringement.
The National Firearms Act has no constitutional foundation. It exists because decades ago, unelected bureaucrats and fearful politicians decided that fear should rule over facts—and freedom.
But history has taught us something else.
Jews Can Shoot exists because we’ve learned—through blood and ash—that when the state controls who can be armed, disaster follows. When the people are disarmed, they are silenced. When they are silenced, they are controlled. And when they are controlled, it’s already too late.
We will not be silenced. We will not be disarmed. And we will not accept half-measures.
