We, the People (of Yavapai County, Arizona).
Today, January 2nd, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors met in Prescott, Arizona to announced their decision to table the current proclamation on declaring Yavapai County a Second Amendment Sanctuary County.
At today’s meeting, Chairman Craig Brown made a point to note that the board had read the proclamation and therefore had not discussed with one another their thoughts, opinions, or decisions at that time. They were there today to hear public opinion and then discuss and make their decision once the public was able to make their statements.
The Yavapai County Admin Building filled with county residents, spilling into the lobby and even out of the building all listening to the discussions and presentations being made the public. Over 100 speakers made their thoughts heard loud and clear. Mayor of Dewey-Humbolt Terry Nolan stated the current “proclamation is a start” but that the board of supervisors will need to “develop an ordinance that will be effective.”
