Katy Grimes: CA Attorney General says gun stores would have to “shut their doors” for a few days until the new ammo licenses are issued — no definitive date the DOJ is willing to give.
California is being run like a third-world dictatorship in the hands of corrupt Democrats. What is the tipping point?
CLARIFICATION via Alex Reyes: CA dealers with FFL who are on the CFD list have already been issued their ammunition vendors licenses. The only vendors affected are the places that don’t sell firearms.
A new gun control law goes into effect January 1, 2018 requiring businesses and individuals who sell more than 500 rounds of ammunition in any month obtain an ammunition vendor license from the California Department of Justice and conduct ammunition sales only at specified business locations, pursuant to Proposition 63 passed by the voters in November of 2016. Gun dealers who handle ammunition are being unconstitutionally harassed by the State of California, and California’s top law enforcement official.
December 27th, El Dorado County Sheriff John D’Agostini sent a letter to California Attorney General Xavier Becerra requesting the AG stay the requirement for ammunition vendors to obtain an ammunition vendor license, due to the fact his own office had not completed the regulatory process nor issued any of the required ammunition vendor licenses so these businesses could lawfully operate until such licenses were issued. The first response Sheriff D’Agostini received was an outright lie. When he pressed the AG’s office and asked what businesses that sold ammunition were supposed to do until the AG’s office completede their regulatory process, he was advised that gun stores would have to only “shut their doors” for a few days until the licenses were issued giving no definitive date DOJ is willing to be accountable to.
