SULTAN, Wash. — At age 80, Barb Moles is an elderly great grandmother, but she’s certainly not helpless.
“I’m not just really the typical granny – in case you haven’t noticed!” Moles said.
Last week, Moles shot and killed a man who broke into her home and beat her husband with a crowbar.
The burglar was identified as 25-year-old Steven Sheppard.
Police in Sultan, Washington believe Sheppard was a stranger intending to burglarize the home of two innocent senior citizens. He didn’t count on being confronted, let alone shot.
Moles says, “You know, never in my whole life did I ever anticipate having to take another life – especially at age 80. Give me a break here!”
