We will never forget”, “We remember”, “Never Again”. We’ve got some great slogans to yell out when they are pushing us onto cattle cars, don’t we?
More than half of all hate crimes that are committed, are committed against Jews – and we are just 2% of the population. Jewish teens are afraid to wear the Star of David around their necks when attending certain Universities … Jews are taking Mezuzot off their door frames … kids are afraid to share in public schools that they are Jewish … but no one is afraid to post meaningless slogans online.
We as a group are MOST likely to be attacked and LEAST likely to have the ability to defend ourselves. We make easy targets.
Don’t say “Never Again” if you aren’t ready to pick up firearms and defend yourself, your family, and your community. What you’re really saying is “Never Again if it’s ok with you … or Never Again, as long as someone else comes to our rescue THIS time”.
It is easier to change yourself than to change society. You can work your whole life trying to legislate behavior so they don’t harm you, or you can spend 3 hours per months training so they don’t DARE try to harm you … and if they try, their chance for success will be severely diminished.
The only slogan that I think is appropriate on this day is the one from ‘Jews Can Shoot’ – “Nothing says Never Again like an Armed Jew”.
By Alex Dovgalevsky, in honor of Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Exodus says, “And the children of Israel went out from Egypt bearing arms.” Why was this mentioned? Because an armed people is a free people. Slaves are prohibited from bearing arms. Free people are not. Let us all remain a free people, by protecting our right to keep and bear arms!
