Just bought your first handgun? Longtime gun owner but never had any formal training? Owning a firearm isn’t enough if you don’t know how to use it confidently, safely and effectively in an emergency, or if you have developed bad habits that affect your speed and accuracy.
Most gun owners in America have had no formal firearm instruction. Untrained novices can be a danger to themselves and others, and longtime shooters without training may have acquired bad habits over the years that affect shooting accuracy. That’s why it’s so critical to get proper training to provide new gun owners with a solid grounding in the fundamentals of marksmanship, and to help longtime shooters identify and correct bad habits.
This class is designed to do precisely that. We will cover:
- Loading and unloading
- Sight alignment/sight picture
- Proper stance, grip, and trigger control
- Snapping in (dry firing)
- Presentation of weapon from holster or ready position to target
- Changing magazines in a tactical situation
- Dealing with firearm malfunctions
- Transitioning from one weapon to another (for those with multiple weapons)
Each participant will come away from this class with increased confidence handling firearms and with the training to handle them safely, effectively, and tactically in any situation.
Our patient, expert instructors have many years of combined experience training military and law enforcement officers in firearm fundamentals.
Classroom only, No range time.
