BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) – The Kern High School District Board of Trustees has voted in favor of allowing employees to bring guns onto campuses.
The five-man board approved an amendment to the KHSD gun policy that allows staff members who hold a concealed-carry weapons permit to bring guns to school with the superintendent’s written permission.
The 3-2 vote comes several months after the board decided to allow nonstaff members with CCW permits to bring weapons onto campus if approved by the superintendent. Only 13 nonstaff CCW holders have applied so far.
